Center Harbor Inn – Reverse Osmosis System Installation

Transforming Water Quality at Center Harbor Inn with LaChance Water Filtration

DSC00340Facing a severe problem with its water supply, Center Harbor Inn turned to LaChance Water Filtration for a dependable solution. The Inn was grappling with a significant challenge regarding its water supply, which was plagued by excessive dissolved solids such as salts and minerals. This affected the taste and quality of the water and was also detrimental to the building’s plumbing and equipment. The high level of dissolved solids led to scaling and corrosion, accelerating wear and tear on pipes and fixtures and ultimately resulting in expensive repairs and maintenance issues. This water quality issue posed a threat not just to the Inn’s structural integrity but also to its guests’ satisfaction and health, making it imperative for the management to seek a swift and effective solution.

Effective Solutions with Advanced Technology

We installed a cutting-edge Reverse Osmosis (RO) system to address this issue. Reverse Osmosis is an advanced and highly efficient method that purifies water by forcing it through a specialized membrane. This membrane acts as a barrier, capturing and eliminating unwanted particles. Among these contaminants is chloride, which, at the Inn, was found to be more than double the safe level. Given the gravity of this situation and understanding the significant health risks associated with high chloride levels, installing the RO system was crucial.

Considering the Inn’s substantial daily water usage, approximately 4000 gallons, it was imperative that the RO system be both robust and efficient. Therefore, we meticulously designed the system to handle such a large water volume without compromising performance. This ensures that every drop of water used at the Inn, whether for drinking, cooking, or cleaning, meets the highest purity and safety standards.

Strategic System Relocation and Upgrades

We went beyond merely installing a new system. After a series of detailed discussions, it became evident that relocating the filtration system to a building nearby would significantly improve its efficiency and extend its useful life. This process involved more than just a physical transfer; it necessitated the installation of new piping systems designed to cater to the specific requirements of the new location, as well as comprehensive upgrades to the electrical infrastructure to adequately support the demands of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. To ensure the system’s efficiency and the Inn’s continuous access to purified water, we installed larger water tanks capable of storing ample clean water. These upgrades ensure that the filtration system operates at peak efficiency and guarantee that there is always a sufficient reserve of clean water to meet the Inn’s needs, even during times of high demand.

Low Maintenance Water Filtration System, High Reliability

Our systems are designed to be as hassle-free as possible:

  • Self-Cleaning Filter: This component is low maintenance, needing a check only every 5 to 10 years, thanks to its self-cleaning capability.
  • Water Softener: It softens the water by removing excess minerals. It requires a little salt occasionally and an annual check-up to keep it running smoothly.
  • Acid Neutralizer: This important part of the system helps to balance the water’s pH, protecting it from becoming too acidic. It needs new media every 3 to 5 years to continue working effectively.
  • Reverse Osmosis System: The heart of our setup needs periodic filter changes. We make it easy by sending reminders when it’s time for a new filter.
